The job of a firefighter is one of incredible courage and sacrifice, often requiring one to face danger while others are running from it. No matter how much training and preparation one receives, there are risks that can never be completely eliminated. Today, we honor a firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others. May their family, friends, and fire service brothers and sisters find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

On Sunday around 6 p.m., Stallings Fire, along with Matthews and Wesley Chapel, was alerted to a structure fire after a neighbor reported seeing an exterior electrical outlet on fire.
Upon arrival, crews had to make entry into the home, as no one was home. Firefighters conducted a primary search to verify the home was unoccupied. No active fire was found inside the residence.
The fire had extinguished itself, although it did cause damage to the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Union County Fire Marshal’s Office.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., Station 20, along with Wesley Chapel and Matthews Fire, was dispatched for a structure fire. Stallings units arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread further, limiting the damage to the structure.
Great work by all responding crews on a quick and effective response.
